The one-day Queens Birthday mixed volleyball tournament at the Telecom Sports Arena on Monday was a fun family affair with loads of action on the courts.

Although small, the competition was none the less competitive with teams playing in a round robin format before the business end of the competition really had supporters on the edge of their seat.

The tournament grand final was played between teams Safe Sets and Wigmores Superstore with Safe Sets going on to win the game.

Fantastic skills were displayed by international beach volleyball player Brendon Heath while Dorothea George played with plenty of enthusiasm and determination.

Husband and wife combo of Annie and Moni Uini were standouts for the Wigmores Superstore team.

The volleyball federation executives are planning another tournament for August during the annual Constitution celebrations where the tournament will be an inter vaka and village format.

Meanwhile volleyball players are training hard as players vie for a spot in the Pacific Games national volleyball squad.
