Training for Rippa rugby coaches

Monday 21 May 2012 | Published in Regional

Rippa rugby coaches will receive expert advice and coaching this week through the Cook Islands Rugby Union ‘train the trainer’ programme.

Former New Zealand rugby sevens representative Chad Tuoro will run the first workshop this afternoon at the Avatea School Hall from 3pm to 6pm.

Eighty percent of this afternoon’s programme will be practical sessions.

From Tuesday to Thursday, Tuoro will visit schools and assess new trainers and inspire teaches to be better Rippa rugby coaches.

On Friday a mini Rippa rugby tournament will be held at the Arorangi field for mixed school teams with details for this final programme to be circulated later in the week.

On Rarotonga for the week-long course are trainers from the outer islands. For more information contact Ben Koteka on 54469.
