The BCI Stadium will be the scene of some during my day rugby action with the visiting Auckland Grammar teachers group ready to take on local teachers and their brothers and sisters in the Mongoose golden oldies rugby club.

The first game is scheduled tonight with the Auckland Grammar team to take on a combination of Mongoose players and Tereora College teachers.

The Auckland Grammar team is led by former Tereora College teacher Graham Beaumont who taught at the national college in 2003 and 2004.

Beaumont, known to the Mongoose as the rocket scientist, is part of a group of 16 teachers visiting the island for their end-of-year break.

The visitors will play a second match on Friday against the full on Mongoose club members.

Both games will kick off at 5pm at the BCI Stadium and while the players would love to charge a beer for entry its free for all to attend and cheer on the fellas.

Mongoose chairman George George says that they are thrilled to have an international team visit and give them a run.

George explains that Beaumont is a Mongoose member and it will be a great opportunity for the local golden oldies lads to knock his socks off now that he is in the opposing team.

Get along to the BCI Stadium today and on Friday for what should be some fun rugby games golden oldies style.

On Friday the Mongoose club will host the visitors at their annual Christmas party which has a pirate theme this year.
