A new healthy lifestyle challenge tailored for Cook Islanders has been designed to shape up people and give them a new healthy and better lifestyle.

‘Shape for Life’ is a new three months ‘life changing’ challenge for individuals and groups by Top Shape Gym’s new owner and national body builder Okirua Enoka and his team of dedicated fitness instructors.

For Enoka, the push behind launching the new life changing challenge is to help tackle the biggest killer of Pacific people – obesity and diabetes.

”We want to tackle this problem and promote a healthier lifestyle for our people,“ says Enoka.

Registrations for this exciting challenge open on May 23. Upon regisration challengers will receive their ‘Shape for Life’ starter pack. This will include a full warrant of fitness check and full body measurement so that challengers can set their goals and targets.

Challengers will also receive a three-month membership (for non members), personalised fitness regime, tailored nutritional advice, diet plans and dedicated trainers to guide them through the challenge to reach each persons desired goal.

Spicing up the programme, the Top Shape Gym team will also run food preparation sessions and group fitness sessions.

During the food preparation sessions, challengers will be shown the best local foods on the market to eat and how to prepare them to keep the foods nutrition.

Whether you want to lose weight and body fat, gain muscle mass or to just feel and look good, this exciting programme is for you.

As an incentive, cash prizes will be up for grabs at the end of the challenge with $3000 for first prize, $1500 for second, $500 for third plus consolation prizes and new healthy lives to lead.

Enoka says while the cash prizes are the incentive of the programme, it’s not the reason behind the challenge but rather improved healthy lifestyles.

Enoka adds that the winner of the challenge will not necessarily be the person who loses the most weight but rather the person who achieves the goals they set out at the start of the challenge.

The programme starts on Monday June 11 and will end on Semptember 2.

Registrations start on Wednesday May 23 and Friday May 25 at Top Shape Gym at 8am, and will continue for two weeks after that. Registrations are $120 for gym members and $180 for non members.
