Exciting rugby sevens games will be played at Raemaru Park this afternoon during day two of the pre-season rugby sevens tournament.

Under 13 and 16 grade players opened up the season yesterday and today the under 19 grade will kick start games at 12pm.

Defending pre-season sevens champions the Avatiu Eels will feature ex and current national sevens plays including Duane Gukisuva, Bruce Goldsworthy and some fit young CISA students.

The team will miss the experience of Nicholas brothers Lui and Clive this weekend but no doubt the club has a string of rising stars to fill in the gap.

The Ngatangiia Dragons are the dark horses of this years comp and players to watch from the Ngatangiia side are Sailosi Nagi and also returning Cook Islander Steve Skinnon who is an ex North Harbour and Wellington NPC winger.

The Cowboys are expected to have a few surprises in store and will be coached by sevens representative Spoon Marsters.

The Cowboys have been training secretly post-league season and watch for their new Fijian imports.

The Tupapa Panthers will be lead by the likes of Conrad Piri and Teina Savage and their band are young stars.

The Titikaveka Bulls and Takuvaine Reds will do their talking on the field as they will no doubt take advantage of the underdog tags and bite when they are least expected.

Todays games start at 12pm and are expected to run right up to 5.16pm for the last game.
