Raising funds to get to Games

Three lifters will represent the country at the Pacific Games in New Caledonia and a housie and food sale fundraiser has been organised for this Saturday to help get them there.

Sam Pera Jnr, younger brother Sirla Pera and sole female lifter Luisa Peters have been in full on training for some time as they are all keen to win medals.

Sam and Sirla Pera train under the watchful eye of their father Sam Pera Snr. Peters has been living and training in New Zealand.

This Saturdays housie fundraiser tickets have nearly sold out and if you are keen to take part and support the weightlifting trio contact Eileen Pera on 25890 or Duane on 25101.

As well as the housie fundraiser barbecued and umu food plates will be on sale at the Tupapa Centre where the housie fundraiser will be held on Saturday starting at 1pm.

Food sales will start at 10am.
