Reigning 2010 Cookie mid week cricket champs the Tupapa Panthers looked convincing in their third round defeat of the Avatiu Nikao Electric Eels.

The Cookie knockout competition is full of pressure as each team has only one opportunity to successfully compete for and defend the cup.

After dispatching of the Avana All Stars and TKV, the Panthers hosted third challengers the Electric Eels at Victoria Park.

Quickly setting about amassing an astonishing 205 runs from 20 overs. Panthers captain Toara The Tank Teinaki lead the charge as he bludgeoned and clubbed the ball about the park, supported duly by Osolai Agai and Patiamai Ataela.

Electric Eels co-captain Shane Thompson did his best to limit the onslaught collecting four wickets, including two from his first two balls, however the damage had been done and the Electric Eels were left with only option of hitting out from ball one if they were to chase down the mammoth 206 to win, managing just 51 runs in reply.

The Panthers will look to fiercely defend the cup next week as they take on Matavera.
