The first swimming event to re-start the open water series will be held at Tikioki today starting at 5.15pm.

The swim series for serious swimmers will be part of the build up to the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series next month.

However, today’s re-commencement of the swim series is not for serious swimmers only but for all those that love being in the water.

Three distances will be on offer for swimmers including a 375m, 750m and 1500m course.

The series will be run for the next seven weeks to complete the 12-week series with the individual winners of the men’s and women’s division to represent the Cooks at the King of the Bays even in Auckland on March 31.

The local swim series is also perfect for triathletes building up to the various events coming up on the triathlon calendar.

So grab your togs and goggles and head to the tri-site in Titikaveka for the swim series re-start today.
