When St Joseph’s primary school hosts tomorrow’s primary schools athletics competition – the students will be sporting brand new uniforms.

This week the school received their new sports uniforms which were blessed by Bishop Stuart O’Connell.

The uniforms were sponsored by the Tauae Shop and the Tupa family.

The Tupa family have a long association with the school with Takuvaine-Tutakimoa member of parliament Mama Ngai Tupa being a former student of the school.

Representing the Tupa family at Tuesday’s blessing ceremony were Nooroa Tupa and Ngamata Ngapara.

In a short presentation to the school Nooroa Tupa the coach of the Tauae Bulls rugby sevens team, told the students that he would be at the BCI stadium this Friday to cheer them on.

And while the students will look very sharp and beautiful in their new uniforms, he said what makes a person is not the clothes that they wear but what they are made of inside.

The Prince of Wales inter primary schools athletics will begin at 8.30am on Friday at the BCI stadium.

This will be a fun-filled day and all parents and families are welcome to spend the day at the stadium to cheer on the mini athletes.
