Mauke laments Tia’s passing

The news of Tia’s passing travelled quickly through Mauke and our hearts are heavy as we feel we’ve lost a friend.

Although we only met Tia this year, he was just that kind of a man, an instant friend and family member! He put aside airs and graces, came humbly, was discerning, knowledgeable, ready to listen, keen for Mauke to develop, and took out even his precious one free night to be with us.

Tia and Theresa made their way into our hearts with their singing, bubbly nature and personal touch, even sharing their romantic stories!

Tia promised to be back for the completion of the water project, we are so sorry that now he won’t make it, and that Tia and Theresa didn’t get that romantic hideaway holiday.

Theresa, we weep with you and be sure you are still welcome to join us when we celebrate the blessing of water which your husband helped to bring us.

No reira, ariki mai ta matou reo akapumaana anga o to tatou Metua Tane, Tia, tei takake atu.

For and on behalf of Mauke
