All events will be run in age groups, with the masters groups being in five year bands M40 (40-44), M45 (45-49),M50 (50-54) and so on for men and W40 (40-44), W50 (50-54) and so on for women.

There is also the small group of six masters age athletes from Auckland that will be participating in the events.

A number of these have won New Zealand masters titles and the women are in the following age groups W45, W55 and W60 and the men are M50, M60 and M65.
