A colourful team parade at the BCI Stadium this afternoon will set the tone for the 2011 Sevens in Heaven tournament.

At 2pm all 22 local and international rugby sevens teams will parade through the stadium before the first day of the three-day competition kicks off at 4pm.

The first three games today will feature the six womens teams in this years tournament.

First up at 4pm will be defending womens champions College Rifles taking on the Titikaveka Titans.

This is set to be a thrilling game with both sides fielding some of New Zealands rising women rugby stars including a number of newly signed Black Ferns.

The second game of the day will be between the Hastings Rugby and Sports team and the Rebels womens side who are made up of top players from the Ponsonby Fillies club in Auckland.

T&M Crushers, who have some women rugby league stars in the mix, will take on the Avatiu Motor Centre Eels team who have two imports in the squad of staunch local women players.

These three womens games will soften the pitch for the first mens game at 4.54pm between the General Transport Tabusoro and the Arorangi Cowboys.

The women will also wrap up day one of the tournament with the last game kicking off at 7.54pm.

Tomorrow, day two of the tournament, games will start at 1pm with a full programme of games, competitions and dash for cash events on the cards.

Then on Saturday its all on intense and hot seven games as well fantastic fun for all in the dress up and crazy hat competition.

Games on Saturday start at 10.28am with the final round of womens games before the business end of the tournament starts with the mens quarter finals at around 11.30.

If you dont have your tickets to the sevens or a supporters t-shirt these will be on sale at the BCI Stadium gates.

Grab your mates, get a costume together and shuffle it to the sevens.
