The pilot phase of the Just Play programme wrapped up with a fun festival at the CIFA Complex in Matavera with almost 200 children aged 8 to 10 attending from the primary schools around Rarotonga last Friday.

The children enjoyed participating in many different Just Play activities being run by the facilitators as they rotated around the fields playing with children from other schools.

A short spell of rain interrupted the activities briefly forcing all to head to the grandstand for a bit of cover and an early water break, this provided a great opportunity for a group photo and kept the children in good spirits until they could return to the field.

Michelle Paiti the Project Manager of the Just Play programme says the kids were just loving it and having lots of fun and the facilitators did a great job running their sessions while keeping all the children involved throughout the activities.

At the completion of the hour-long activities the children were treated to local fruits and water refills.

Cook Islands Football would like to acknowledge the Australian Government and Oceania Football for funding this programme, as well as the support and attendance at the festival from Red Cross and Public Health who also assisted with fruits for the day.
