The second intake of the Just Play Football Programme will take place today at the CIFA academy in Matavera.

The Just Play social development grassroots football programme focuses on participation and fun for boys and girls aged 6 to 13 for schools and community groups on Rarotonga will run today and Friday, October 20-21.

The programme, which provides resources and equipment for the participants to deliver the programme within their groups, follows the successful pilot phase of the programme.

For this course we have targeted teachers and community volunteers that work with the younger aged children as they often miss out with the bigger children dominating, says project manager Michelle Paiti.

The course will be conducted by instructor Michelle Paiti and assisted by development officer Tuka Tisam.

Following this course the facilitators will deliver the programme in their respective schools and communities for six weeks before taking part in a festival which will also celebrate the Pacific Nations Just Play Day on Friday, November 25.
