Harbour swim postponed

Due to rough sea conditions on Tuesday, the scheduled King and Queen of the Harbour swim was postponed and will now be staged next Tuesday, December 6.

The swim is open to all and the course from Avatiu harbour to Avarua harbour is approximately 1 km.

The race will start at 5.15pm and last years winning time of 24.47 minutes set by Kiwi swimmer Michael Buck is up to be smashed.

The next event after the harbour swim is the national swimming championships scheduled for December 10 to be held at Muri, however plans for this swim are still subject to change depending on sea conditions.

All are welcome to take part in the forthcoming harbour swim just turn up with your swim gear and join the fun but be realistic about your swimming ability as the swim can be challenging.

Safety boats and kayaks will be out on the water during the swim.
