New friendships were formed during the recent golden oldies mini rugby tournament which included two international and two local teams.

An action packed 2-day tournament was organised for the players from the DB Millhillians from Wairarapa in New Zealand, Central Coast side from New South Wales, Avatiu-Nikao Mongoose club and the Sons of Takitumu.

Not satisfied with the action they had on Rarotonga the DB Millhillians jetted across to Aitutaki for a touch rugby match against the Aitutaki Happy Feet club.

The teams combined players and Happy Feet players dressed the Millhillians in their new jerseys.

The game was played in the true spirit of Golden Oldies footy and was thoroughly enjoyed by both players and spectators, reports Millhillians member Denis Garrity.

The game was followed by an evening of hospitality at the Aitutaki Fishing Club where many friendships were formed.

The Millhillians were overwhelmed with the hospitality from both Robert Skews in Rarotonga and Stephen Doherty in Aitutaki and are looking forward to returning for the next festival in 2 years, says Garrity.
