Fiji now has 14 cases of COVID-19 confirmed and the Fijian Government says they will advise the public as soon as possible should this change.

The Fijian Ministry of Health and Medical Services advises that Fever Clinics have also been relocated due to adverse weather conditions brought about by Tropical Cyclone Harold.

The Fijian Government in a statement says that they remain on the highest level of alert in response to this global pandemic. We know that finding cases early and isolating them quickly is key to containing this disease. As the symptoms of COVID-19 are very similar to many other respiratory illnesses (including the common cold and influenza) it is expected that the Ministry will continue to investigate more persons with relevant travel history and symptoms related to COVID-19.

The Fiji Sun reports that Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama confirmed Fiji’s 12th confirmed case of COVID-19 with an additional two cases of the virus at a press conference.
