Cowboys tame the Bulls

In the 2nd challenge of the under 16 Powerade trophy on Wednesday, current holders Arorangi Cowboys were a force to be reckoned with when they defeated challengers the Titikaveka Bulls 57-0.

It was a nine try effort by the Cowboys with the halftime score at 29-0.

Best for the Bulls were skilled first 5/8 Teariki Matenga Jnr and powerhouse Number 8 Naea Maeva who worked hard all day.

Best for the Cowboys were strong-running inside centre Rory Ngaata, fullback Jac Love and hard-working forward Tokoiva George.

Tokoiva George and Rory Ngaata scored two tries each for the Cowboys while team mates Duane Taio, Andre Iro, Jack Love, Tunui George and Tereinga Murare each scored a try.

CITC key brands manager George George was on hand to award the most valuable player awards to the Bulls number 8 and captain Naea Maeva and Cowboys inside centre Rory Ngaata.

The next under 16 Powerade challengers will be the Ngatangiia-Matavera Flying Dragons on Wednesday July 6.
