Black Puta, Avatiu take tournament honours

The Black Puta and Avatiu No Boys soccer teams won the one-day five-a-side soccer tournament at the CIFA complex on Saturday in the mens and womens division.

In the mens division Black Puta, who won their pool, eliminated Virgin Ave in the semi finals by 5 goals to 1 to book a spot in the finals while Warriors knocked out the fancied All Stars team by 3 goals to 0.

In the finals Black Puta showed why they are the only undefeated team in 2011 by beating a determined Warriors team by 5 goals to 2.

In the womens division Avatiu No Boys made up of 4 national squad players went through the round games undefeated to secure a top 2 placing for a spot in the finals.

In the finals Avatiu No Boys defeated FOB-a-TAK by 3 goals to 2 with the winning goal scored late in the second half by Linade Unuka.

In the mens lower division category Avatiu No Girls defeated Maro Bhago by a sole goal from the penalty spot by Nathan Tisam.

In the womens division Black Qwenz who won the round cup competition earlier in the year had to settle for the lower division trophy winning by 2-0 over White Fairies.
