A big week of rugby is in store for supporters starting today with an under 17 match between the Avatiu Eels and visiting team from Faaa in Tahiti.

This game will kick off at 4.30pm at the Swamp.

On Constitution Day, August 4, the first day of the CITC Constitution Sevens tournament will be played.

The tournament will be contested by senior players from the six clubs on Rarotonga being Titikaveka, Ngatangiia-Matavera, Tupapa, Takuvaine, Avatiu and Arorangi and a team from the Cook Islands Sports Academy.

Defending champions from Aitutaki will return to defend their champions title.

Games on Thursday will be a pool tournament with the finals day to be played on Saturday.

On Friday the first day of the Pacific Computers under 15 college sevens tournament will be run.

This tournament will include Titikaveka College, Tereora College, Nukutere College, Rakei Toa, a combined Rarotonga Barbarians team and the visiting team from Tahiti.

This is expected to be an exciting day of schoolboy rugby with plenty of talent taking to the field.

Saturday will see the combined final day of the constitution and college sevens tournament in what is going to be a huge day of action packed rugby sevens games.

Because of two tournaments, the normal club rugby 15s competition will take a break this weekend and return next weekend.

The two day Constitution and college tournaments will be held at the Tupapa field starting at 1pm on Thursday, 2pm on Friday and 12pm on Saturday.

Make sure you are at Victoria Park supporting your team and the new crop of rugby players.
