More than 90 photos were entered in our Rugby World Cup photo competition sponsored by CITC.

The competition closed yesterday and as well as running some more entries (opposite page), Cook Islands News staff have chosen the two winning photos.

A shortlist of the top photos was drawn up and merits of each photos discussed until the winning two pictures were found.

The winner of the Panasonic FP3 Lumix camera goes to Leanne Kiria who sent in the photo (left) of future All Blacks captain Harold-O-Putua.

The eight-week-old babes haka face was considered priceless by the staff on our judging panel.

The silver fern haircut sported by Makana Sadaraka-Peyroux has won mum Leilani Sadaraka the second prize of a silver Panasonic FH2 Lumix camera.

Although the two photos have won the main photo prizes there were a number of other photos that came close to winning and were picked out as standout photos by the panel of judges.

The Edgewater Resort and Spas marketing departments photo of Irishman Paddy Lynch finding the Webb Ellis cup at the end of the rainbow along with the leopard print clad All Blacks fans Charleen Hoff and Raiti Ngaata were also favourites with the judges.

Plenty of comments were made by the judges on the photos of the McDaniel and Short family home which had one wall painted all black with a silver fern.

Cook Islands News says meitaki maata to everyone who entered the photo competition and plans to run more photography competitions in the near future.

Winners of the competition will be notified of the prize presentation over the weekend.
