Celebrating a quarter century of the market in 2017, Internal Affairs minister Albert Nicholas pays tribute to vendors, the Catholic Church, Mike Tavioni, the New Zealand and Cook Islands governments of the 1990s, and his mother for playing their part in the creation of the market. 17112721

A quarter of a century of Punanga Nui market vendors selling their tasty homemade goods, produce, and locally-made wares was celebrated on November 24 with the unveiling of commemorative plaques set in stone, by Queens Representative Tom Marsters and New Zealand deputy High Commissioner Samantha Beckett.
