Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Cook Islands Investment Corporation (CIIC) is encouraging the public to attend an important community engagement session tomorrow, from 6pm- 7:30pm at the Sinai Hall in Avarua.

According to CIIC this is an opportunity to learn more about CIIC’s strategy and and the public can share their views on how public assets and services can better serve the people of the Cook Islands.

Minister Nicholas said, “These public assets belong to the people of the Cook Islands. They are key to our development and wellbeing as a nation.

“That is why it’s important that we hear from you. Your views matter—so we can ensure these assets serve us well today, and for generations ahead.”

CIIC Chair Fletcher Melvin echoed the importance of reconnecting with the community.

“It has been some time since we as a corporation have gone out to the public in this way—and to be honest, I don’t think we ever really have. We want to change that. We want to work with the public, and we want to hear directly from you as we shape our strategy for the future.”

CIIC Chief Executive Officer Allan Jensen added: “CIIC is responsible for a wide range of national assets—from Crown land and government buildings to ports, airports, utilities, telecommunications infrastructure, and more. This engagement session is an opportunity for the public to better understand the scope of our work—and for us to listen and learn from the community we serve.”

This initiative reflects CIIC’s long-term commitment to strengthening communities and ensuring that public infrastructure, enterprises and investments continue to meet the needs of our people—now and for generations to come.

Meanwhile, light refreshments will be provided along with some spot giveaways.
