Elvis tribute artist Paul Napa is promising a lively show at next week’s Te Are Manu fundraiser.

The rock’n’roll fundraiser to purchase supplies for the local veterinary clinic will be held at The Islander Hotel on Wednesday.

Local artists Paul Napa and Destiny Tara will pay tribute to rock’n’roll legends Elvis Presley, Tom Jones and Tina Turner.

And there will be a live rock band featuring Ian Wheeldon, Jim Perkins and other local artists.

“Destiny is a well-known singer and she’s got an awesome voice. She will be performing ‘Simply the Best’ and other Tina Turner hits,” Lynch said.

“I will do Tom Jones and towards the end an Elvis tribute.”

Napa has been doing Elvis since 1996 when he took part in a national song contest.

“I might pull out some people from the audience to participate in a singalong,” he said. “It will be a great night of fun.

“We will have some great prizes donated by local businesses for best costume and dance. There will also be some incredible prizes up for grabs, an auction of some very special one of a kind items and a huge value-packed raffle.”

Tickets are selling at $50 for adults and $20 for kids (2-12 years). That includes the famous Islander buffet dinner.

Tickets are available at The Bond Store, Business Trade and Investment Board and from the Te Are Manu Vet Clinic. Doors open at 6pm.
