Rarotonga football season resumes

After a two-week break for the Cook Islands Games, the football season is back in full swing, and excitement is expected to be palpable at the CIFA Complex today.

Grassroots teams are set to kick off Round 11 competition, showcasing the talent and passion of the young athletes.

Starting at 4:15pm, the Under-6, U8, U10, and U12 mixed teams will take to the field. Family, friends, and football enthusiasts are invited to come out and support the next generation of footballers.

In the U6 mixed category, Avatiu will compete against Tupapa Maraerenga, while Titikaveka faces off against Puaikura in matches that promise to be both spirited and enjoyable.

The energy will only ramp up as the U8, U10 and U12 teams follow suit: Matavera-Ngatangiia will battle Tupapa-Maraerenga, Titikaveka will challenge Puaikura, and Avatiu will take on Nikao Sokattak.

Each match is sure to be filled with thrilling contests and unforgettable moments.

As the grassroots action wraps up, the excitement continues with the U18 Men’s game kicking off at 4:50pm. Matavera-Ngatangiia will face Tupapa-Maraerenga in a highly anticipated matchup.

Tupapa-Maraerenga, currently sitting in third place, will be looking to solidify their position or even climb their way to the top of the table, while Matavera’s young and ambitious squad aims to showcase their improvement and competitive spirit.
