Nikao Sokattak, Tupapa Maraerenga lead title races

Nikao Sokattak premier men’s team and Tupapa Maraerenga senior women’s team are currently leading the Tower Insurance and The Islander Hotel Championship, respectively, after nine rounds of games in the 2021 Rarotonga Round Cup Championship.

In the Tower Insurance premier men’s competition, Nikao Sokattak lead on 22 points ahead of Tupapa Maraerenga who are on 19 points, followed by Titikaveka who have 14 points to their name.

Tupapa had a good chance of taking the lead last week but lost to Titikaveka 0-1 on Friday.

There are six rounds of games left, it will be interesting to see what the coming weeks will bring to the battle for the men’s premiership title.

In The Islander Hotel senior women’s competition, the unbeaten Tupapa Maraerenga command a huge lead, sitting at the top of the points table on 25 points, with defending champions Puaikura in second place on 16 points.

The ever improving Matavera women’s team in third place on 11 points.

Tupapa Maraerenga thumped Titikaveka 6-1 in last week’s match held at Teimurimotia Park on Thursday.
