Cook Islands Rugby Union's Ben Koteka.
The 2025 season will feature defending champions Avatiu Nikao Eels, Tupapa Panthers, Titikaveka Bulldogs, Arorangi Bears and Takuvaine (TKV) Reds.
The Ngatangiia/Matavera Sea Eagles were initially drawn into the round one fixture but have since pulled out.
Cook Islands Rugby Union development manager Ben Koteka says the Sea Eagles are “still keen” to participate.
“They will confirm their participation at our meeting on Monday next week,” Koteka said.
He said the first round will feature two premier men’s matches with the Bulldogs taking on the Panthers tomorrow followed by the Eels versus the Reds clash on Saturday.
Both matches will be held at the Aretere Park in Avatiu.
“We will have two rounds of preliminary competition between the participating clubs before the knockouts,” Koteka said.
The Eels won the 2024 club competition title beating the Panthers 32-27 in a closely contested final.
