The Rarotonga netball season launched yesterday with Opens Grades games.

Amidst the Covid pandemic, Netball Cook Islands (NCI) has taken a precautionary approach with planning the netball season by seeking advice from TMO and keeping in line with the Ministerial Orders issued by the Government. Netball Cook Islands delegates have also met regularly to plan the netball season.

Though the clubs voiced concerns about players leaving, clubs not being able to field some teams and season starting later than usual, NCI is confident that once the season gets going, netball fans, fanatics and players will show their support for their clubs.

This season will be integral to both the development of our rising stars and will set a foundation for the Cook Islands National Squad who are set to travel to Fiji in July for the World Cup Qualifiers.

This week's games will see Ngatangiia/Matavera host Titikaveka. Avatiu host Takuvaine and Tupapa host Arorangi.

Two rounds of games, knockouts, semis and finals are scheduled  for the end of July.

We encourage all netball supporters and fans to go down to your local netball courts to support our future players this season. Note there is a $2 entry fee that goes towards the upkeep of courts and the club.

We look forward to seeing you all on court.
