Badminton gets off to flying start

This week’s Badminton World Federation Development and Shuttle kicked off despite the heavy rain on Monday.

It was Day One for the Juniors’ afternoon classes and Badminton Cook Islands says not even the rain could keep the children away from taking part in their first Junior class of the year.

Around 65 children have registered for classes this term between the ages of seven to 13-years-old. And after nine weeks of classes they will all compete in the Easter Monday Tournament.

Meanwhile, Badminton Cook Islands has released their Calendar for the year that includes Term One Junior Classes from February 1 to April 1 for eight weeks and the Ten Week Social and Elite Team Challenge that starts today (February 3 to April 9).

The Air Badminton Come and Try will be from March 8-13 and the Easter Monday Tournament is on April 5.
