Logan recently returned from the 129th Boston Marathon in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, calling it a fantastic experience, and he was well pleased with his time.
Approximately 30,000 runners lined up on Patriots’ Day, April 21, to run in the biggest marathon in the world, and the crowning glory for Logan was the pride in holding up the Cook Islands flag.
Logan said it was his first time participating in this event, and he found it challenging.
“It is a very prestigious marathon and it has a lot of history being the first Marathon to be run in America and it is also one of the events in the World Marathon Majors series,” he told Cook Islands News.
“The run itself was challenging and very enjoyable and the energy from the crowd and the participants made it a fantastic experience.
“It has been a goal of mine to compete in the Boston marathon for a couple of years and it involved covering thousands of miles in both training and travel and it was worth every step.”
With the Boston Marathon now ticked off his bucket list, Logan intends to compete in the Gold Coast Marathon Championships and the Sydney Marathon, which has just been added to the World Marathon series.
Last year, he set a new Cook Islands record at the 2024 Oceania Half Marathon event in the Gold Coast, which is 21-kilometre half marathon now, clocking 1 hour 23:58 minutes.
Logan, who is a member of the Oceania Athletics Association Masters Athletes Commission was part of the Oceania Athletics Association Congress in Rarotonga this week.
