Let’s just hope that a nice slice of the $4.1 million is to pay for some Aotearoa police officers of Pacific Islands origin to fly in and protect our women, some of whom are sure to get beat up with all the drinking, and know, from experience, that no matter what Protection Orders they might have, help is hardly ever just a phone call away.
Bring in experienced police to do what we can’t seem to do, and also to train our officers while they are here. We’ve got some fine officers that want to do the right thing, but just don’t have the back-up. While the Aotearoa officers are here, how about they get interviewed and asked if they would walk into a local house with a drunken bush knife-wielding husband or boyfriend for a pay scale of $10 an hour.
