Police probe fatal road crash

Cook Islands Police has confirmed the death of a 39-year-old male who crashed at the roadside in Avatiu.
Police media and strategic advisor Trevor Pitt said they are currently investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, on a side road in Avatiu.
At approximately 1:08am, Police were notified of the incident involving a 39-year-old male.
He sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
An eyewitness told CI News that they were travelling from to Avatiu road when they saw the crash and the male was lying down on the road, his helmet was on one end of the road while the bike was on the other end.
