A 70-year-old woman crashed into a pole yesterday morning in Takitumu, causing a disturbance amidst minor traffic in the area.

The incident occurred just minutes away from Apii Takitumu, according to an eyewitness.

Police vehicles were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving the call.

The crash was reported at 11:50 AM and involved the female driver.

“The car hit a pole,” said Trevor Pitt, Police Media and Strategic Advisor. “A blood specimen has been requested, as is standard procedure.”

According to Pitt, the vehicle was removed from the road shortly after 1pm.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness driver who arrived to the scene shortly after the accident noted that the car was in the middle of the road while police officers directed traffic. In a related incident, a driver attempting to overtake the eyewitness in a rush slowed down upon noticing the police officers near the crash scene.
