Cook Islands Trading Corporation (CITC) has proudly reaffirmed its commitment to supporting “local heroes” by partnering with the Puaikura Volunteer Fire Brigade, a dedicated team of first responders based in Arorangi, Vaka Puaikura.

The company’s support includes the donation of fuel to power the brigade’s fleet, ensuring they are always ready to respond to emergencies, from fires and accidents to medical callouts.

Last week, CITC representatives including CITC brands manager George George visited the fire station to meet with fire chief Jason Moorfield and to install striking new decals on the brigade’s fire trucks and emergency response vehicle.

Each decal bears the message: “Fuelled by CITC” – a proud symbol of the company’s ongoing sponsorship.

“As a local company, we’re proud to support the people who step up when our community needs them most,” said CITC general manager Gaye Whitta.

“These volunteers do an incredible job, and we’re honoured to help keep them moving.

“To the men and women of the brigade - meitaki maata for your continued service. Your work does not go unnoticed.”

In addition to fuel, CITC also provides Pump water and Powerade to help keep the crew hydrated and energised during callouts.

Fire chief Moorfield expressed his gratitude for the partnership: “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to CITC for their generous sponsorship of fuel for our fire appliance and hydration supplies for our firefighters.”

“During emergency incidents, having access to adequate hydration is absolutely essential for the safety, health, and performance of our crew.

“Their support helps ensure that our firefighters remain well-equipped and cared for while they serve the community under challenging conditions.”
