You can now book appointments online, see your test results, order repeat prescriptions, and access your health records where you can see all your recent medical conditions, immunisation records, allergies and prescriptions at a glance through the Manage My Health app on your phone.
Empowering people to take charge of their health, Te Marae Ora Minister Vainetutai Rose Toki-Brown launched the smart phone application yesterday.
“This has been a long four years to finally see Manage My Health roll out. This will benefit our people especially those in the Pa Enua and we encourage our people to take action. Follow through, we do our part and you do your part,” said Toki-Brown.
“As a society approach we can do this together to achieve a better future for our people.”
Toki-Brown reassured that the Pa Metua (elderly) do have their own smart phone and they know how to use them.
“This important project is to provide better health services for our people,” she said.
Te Marae Ora secretary Bob Williams said this is another milestone as they could successfully roll the project out especially to the Pa Enua.
“We are very happy, this is part of our non-communicable-disease (NCD) management where you don’t just rely on what we say, and you have a look for yourself. Revise your health, it’s a two way process.”
Williams said the app will increase patients personal monitoring of their health and encourages everyone to use it.
According to Williams, Government has continued to support this initiative for almost four years now since the transition of Te Marae Ora’s patient information system from Medtech 32 to Medtech Evolution.
He acknowledged the hardworking team who have been able to facilitate the contractual obligations since the movement to medic evolution as well as the funding and planning team.
Williams recognised that Manage My Health wouldn’t work without better internet connectivity therefore TMO are also rolling out the setting up and establishment of Starlink systems to all the Pa Enua, “so that our people there can register through the system.”
In the national health reorientation plan 2024+ as one of the delivery outcomes set out and approved by cabinet is the improved health systems using technology, added Williams.
This model increases the need for self-monitoring.
A patient can look at their health records, use the initiative and make appointments or request for top ups of necessary medications you need to comply with your doctor’s advice.
“We wanted to address the waiting time for patients when they have to physically visit the doctor for top ups on medication etc. Now you can do it online. This streamlines the whole process and reduces the waiting time,” said Williams.
Te Marae Ora ICT Manager Mary Manea was proud to be involved in this new healthcare journey and said, “For our healthcare professionals, Manage My Health represents a more streamlined, efficient, and collaborative way of working.
“This is the outcome of careful planning, effective coordination, and committed dedication.
“Recognising the importance of Manage My Health is a crucial step in bridging gaps in our healthcare system. It plays a vital role in making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and focused on the needs of our people,” she said.
Currently, it is free to register for the Manage My Health app. On July 1, 2025, registrations will be charged $1 per year.
