Tereora College students are currently carving a stone at the gallery of Master Carver Mike Tavioni in Nikao.

A concept of the design selected as the winner from a competition held earlier this year will be carved into the stone to commemorate Tereora College's 130 years of providing education in the Cook Islands. This project was initiated by former students who proposed that a design representing the school be engraved on a stone placed in front of Tereora College for its 130-year celebration. Tavioni, a Cook Islands artist and master carver, explained that the students are currently cleaning the rock, but the winning design is merely a concept. He said, “The rock dictates what the design is going to be like.”
