Te Mire Ura 2022 Expert dance champions Uirangi Bishop and Tupa Tupa returned to the dance floor after 11 years, proving they still have the skills, talent and pride for their culture, sweeping the first prize awards in their categories and claiming the esteemed titles.

The annual competition for the Experts (30-46 years), Masters (47-59 years) and the Expatriate sections was held on Friday night in front of a packed crowd at the Rehab Nightclub.

In the Masters competition, first time entrant Lawrencia Williams won the female title and experienced dancer Nooroa Ngametua claimed the male section.

The Expatriates (Expats) section only had two contestants and current title holders, Shannon Dixon and Marlon Rebellos. They again managed to keep the awards.
