To celebrate the creativity and talent of the inclusive education “superpower” class at Nukutere College, a silent auction will be held this week.

Throughout this year 12 inclusive education students have been working on developing their own creative process to showcase their unique artistic expressions.

The art programme was initiated and continues to be tutored by local artist, designer and creative Shane Tuaeu Andrew who offers a platform for these students to express themselves, connect with the community and celebrate their uniqueness.

The students are tutored by local artist, designer and creative Shane Andrew who says he is proud of the creative growth the students have achieved.

“I believe this is a true reflection of our natural abilities as Cook Islanders to create and to story tell through our art. understanding how their  creative process can offer another form of communication has been amazing to watch,” he said.

With Christmas creeping around the corner, visit Nukutere College and purchase a piece of unique art work for your friends or family.

The vibrant art pieces will be on display for the silent auction from this Thursday 21 November to Wednesday 27 November.

Bidding for each art piece starts from $50. A percentage of these funds will go to the students and towards the development of the programme and art supplies to continue the course in 2025.

Last year, the students raised an impressive $3505 for their art work.
