This week, children participated in more than four fun activities, including a Connect 4 competition, Vex Robotics, Spike Legos; pass the parcel, a magic marble race, and a guess-the-lolly-jar game.
Around 14 children attended the programme, which Kat Jensen, ACI’s manager, said was a good turnout.
The children were put in pairs as part of the LEGO programme, each pair were constructing Lego trucks which they would need to race other pairs during a race road track competition at the end of all the activities.
As the children were building their Legos, a name draw was announced for the connect four competition, random names were picked and the chosen ones were to compete.
Jensen also roamed the hub with a jar of lollies. She gave everyone an opportunity to guess the exact number of lollies in the jar, and the winner would receive the jar of lollies.
Raya Roumanu won the challenge, which ultimately resulted in him receiving exactly 97 lollies from the jar. Not only did he win the “guess the lolly jar,” his partner, Benaiah Feao, and Roumanu were the first pair to successfully finish building their Legos, which made them excited and proud.
As for the connect four competitions, Moana Adams won a Vodafone voucher for the older children’s competition, and Jackson Elikana won a Lego box for the younger children’s grade. For pass the parcel, Breanna Goldsworthy won, Keoni Riggot won the magic marble race.
