The tourism-dependent country is on track to record its highest-ever number of visitor arrivals this year, with a forecast of 180,000 tourists, a 4.8 per cent increase over pre-pandemic levels in 2019, according to the latest ANZ Research Pacific Insight report.
Cook Islands is projected to achieve a record visitor arrival in 2025, surpassing pre-pandemic levels due to increased air connectivity, but faces challenges in balancing growth with environmental and workforce sustainability.
