Teava Mataiapo George Matutu bites the ear of a large cooked pig to mark his succession as the new Teava Mataiapo.
Hundreds witnessed his akamarokura’anga (investiture) which was held at the Ko Oro Vena marae in Arai-Te -Tonga yesterday morning.
There were no objections to the proceedings which were held on the impressive, newly renovated marae.
