Cook Islands Police are awaiting the blood specimen results of a 19-year-old driver who is alleged to have crashed onto a power pole in Rutaki yesterday morning.

Police media and strategic advisor Trevor Pitt said the crash was near the Rutaki passage. Police were called in at 5.24am and blood samples were sought for the 19-year-old driver.

As of last night, police were also trying to locate a female driver of a vehicle (pictured-inset) that was found at the backroad in Titikaveka. Police attended the scene at 1.29 Sunday morning.

The driver was reported to be a female who was taken to hospital by others.
