According to police media and strategic advisor Trevor Pitt, police are investigating an assault that took place on Friday night, in which a man was beaten up by two suspects.
“The suspects were covered up with masks.” Pitt told Cook Islands News.
One was described as wearing maroon shorts and a yellow jacket while the other was wearing black hoodie and black pants and a German style helmet.
“Anyone with any knowledge of sighting these males in the Avatiu area Friday night should contact the Police,” Pitt urged.
“Someone has an idea of who these suspects are, and any information would be treated as confidential.”

The driver was breathalysed at the scene and the reading exceeded the limit of 250 micrograms (mcg) of alcohol per litre of breath. The driver had a reading of 1050 mcg.
There were two minor collisions reported during the weekend, one at a hotel car park and another at the fishing club in Tupapa where a driver reversed into a car late Friday night.
According to Pitt, this is a suspected alcohol-related incident in which the accused’s blood has been requested for analysis.

On late Sunday afternoon, police received another disturbance report.
