A woman, who is charged with one count of common assault, has pleaded guilty.

Noomataora Une, represented by defence lawyer Mark Short, admitted to the charge before Justice of the Peace John Whitta at the Criminal Court on Thursday last week.

Une, who will be sentenced on July 29, is on bail with the conditions not to interfere or contact the victim, not to offer violence and not to leave the Cook Islands without the approval of the High Court.

Tiamarama Ngatamariki has elected to speak with a lawyer regarding her court matter.

Ngatamariki, who is charged for excess blood alcohol, was stopped and tested by police in January of this year, returning a blood alcohol reading of 275 milligrams.

Tiola Crummer admitted to a charge of excess breath alcohol.

Details on the results of the alcohol reading were not revealed in court, but police prosecutor senior sergeant Fairoa Tararo requested an adjournment to her sentencing.

Senior sergeant Tararo advised the court that this was Crummer’s second EBA case.

The matter has been adjourned to July 30 for sentencing before three Justices of the Peace.

Eritara Teraro, who is charged for possession of utensil, was remanded in custody on Thursday last week.

The case has been adjourned to May 15 for a bail application and to confirm a place of residence for the accused.
