EBA matters adjourned
Cook Islands High Court. 24050916

The High Court of the Cook Islands adjourned all criminal matters related to excess breath alcohol (EBA) as advice is being sought from Crown Law on the procedures done to conduct the EBA tests.

Five cases were to be presided over by Justice of the Peace Nadine Newnham at the Criminal Court last Friday.

However, Police Prosecutor senior sergeant Fairoa Tararo advised that the cases be adjourned to a later date.

Duty lawyer Jamie Crawford said there have been a number of issues raised in terms of procedures done by the police.

Crawford said that has a result, some cases may be withdrawn- but was not sure.

Justice of the Peace Nadine Newhnham adjourned the cases to July 17 stating that due to the police EBA process advice is sought from Crown Law.
