Auckland University of Technology’s south campus recently celebrated Cook Islands Language Week with a variety of cultural activities.

The AUT Cook Islands family including staff, students and the wider community took part in ura (dance) workshops, had a shared lunch that included island favourites as well as an ei katu (head) making workshop.

The week was an opportunity for the Cook Islands community at AUT to celebrate and share their culture and to speak Maori and keep their language alive.
