Failing to stop

Ngatamaroa Ave appeared in court for failing to stop at a police checkpoint in Arorangi on April 24.

Police alleged that Ave was dangerously driving his motorcycle on a public road.

He is now facing a charge of failing to stop on demand by the police and dangerous driving.

Justice of the Peace Tangi Taoro said dangerous driving was a serious charge. JP Taoro then asked Ave if he wanted to seek legal advice or proceed with the case. Ave requested more time to seek legal advice.

The matter has been adjourned to May 21.
