Young boys seen stunt riding on their motorbikes will be charged, police have warned.

This comes after police tracked down a bike owner from a number plate that was reported to have had someone stunt driving.

Police spokesperson Trevor Pitt said when the motorbike owner was enquired about the stunt driving, he said he had lent his bike out for an errand.

Pitt said a witness had seen four boys on the backroad in Arorangi - two of them doing wheelies.

He said those seen or reported would be charged for careless or dangerous driving.

Apart from this incident, police reported zero arrests, no crashes and no burglaries last weekend.

It was a relatively low-key weekend, Pitt said.

However, they did received reports about a domestic disturbance, a stolen cell phone, a noise complaint, a dog complaint and a puppy being taken.

An intruder complaint during the early hours of Saturday morning was also reported and two tickets were issued for no helmets.
