Cook Islands News, the national daily newspaper in Rarotonga, has two newsroom vacancies.
General Reporter
We are looking for a journalism course graduate to start immediately.
This is a general reporting job for a keen male or female, and will be a two-year contract. Preference will be given to applicants of Polynesian descent and/or with a proven interest in Pacific people, culture, issues and current affairs.
The successful applicant will work in a news team of six sharing daily news and reporting assignments.
Remuneration is negotiable based on the experience and background of the applicant.

Online and Social Networking Editor
We are creating a new fulltime position for a journalist with a passion for online news and social networking.
Cook Islands News plans to launch a new online daily in tandem with social networking portals for our news services.
The successful applicant will help with the launch of Cook Islands News Online, and will bring enthusiasm, ideas and passion to the role.
Duties will include sub-editing of news and images, preparation of blogs and photo galleries, development of pay-site features and products.
