DEFENDING men’s champions Germinators failed to make a perfect start to their campaign in the Bluesky Touch 2017 Season Competition earlier this week.
SIXTEEN touch rugby teams put in a hard day’s effort down at The Swamp on Boxing Day to work off some of the Christmas food and drink.
IN A tit-for-tat battle, RBDC made a final surge for the try line to steal the Cook Islands Touch Boxing Day tournament title from under the nose of Southcoast Scorpions at The Swamp on Monday. The pulsating showdown lived up to expectations as both teams exchanged tries and were tied 3-all with seconds remaining on the clock.
THE STAGE is set for the much anticipated Cook Islands Touch Association Boxing Day tournament on Monday at The Swamp in Avatiu.
The annual event, sponsored by Bluesky Cook Islands, will see 16 teams battling it out for the top honours in the mixed competition.
Initially, 20 teams were due to take part in the day-long tournament, but organisers cut it down by four to allow the competition to run more efficiently.
Cook Islands Touch Association vice-president and competition co-ordinator Simiona Teiotu said they were all geared for a grand opening to their season.
